Synopsis for non-german speaking parts of the world.

Genie&Handwerk (Genius&Handicraft) were founded in 1985, dissolved in 1988.
In this short period more than 80 songs were written, of which twelve can be
heard (in a mostly minor recording quality) on the album BOOTLEG (1998).
Genie&Handwerk then consisted of
Helmut Krausser -Singer
El Conde - Guitar
Micha Rieck - Drums
Peter Zierer - Bass (1987-88)
Der Stürzer - Bass (1986-87)
Komo - Violin

In 1999 El Conde and HelK (Helmut Krausser) decided to reanimate their
teamwork. But instead of writing Folk-Punk-Gothic-Pop, the target was to
create a very new kind of sound
uniting both intellectual and entertaining qualities, elements of classical
music, pop, jazz, easy listening, techno, experimental and minimal music.
Reunion - the name of the album - was not only meant personally, but in
addition as a recombining of popular and artificial ambitions, which at the
latest separated in musical history since the Operas of Strauss and Puccini
and the symphonies of Mahler.

On Reunion you will find more than just one new musical style.
Some of the pieces are named "Floating Urban Music" (Berlin), others called
"Funeral Serenades" (Tsee - which is a film music sequence) do have
mythological (Plain Sails - a "Neo-Wagnerian brute-idyll"; Okeanos) or
fairy-tale origins (Hatters Ode).
Some (Lola - the name refers to the film Run Lola Run) are simply
undiscribable mixes, while another one (September Nights; sung by Sabine
Manke) is just a simple commercial pop song. There are pieces you would most
likely hear in a contemporary conservatory (Fragment -Music for three and a
half pianos; Toccataccaland), others are suitable even in dancehalls or clubs
(Body Notturno,Mojito). The last one is a pathetic-hybrid-monstrous
guitar-transcription of a chambermusic piece by HelK for four horns.
(Incantatio Stahlgewitter)

We are condensing beauty. When the essential part is told, we go on without
diluting it. Our music is made for frequent listening. Even their creators
had to get used to some kinds of novelties.

Genie&Handwerk also design music for theatre, radio plays and films.
